Infor LX/BPCS Tips & Tricks for FINANCE: Override Exchange Rate

George Moroses 0 11622 Article rating: 5.0

This feature uses different exchange rates in the user's inventory processes by using new macros in Post Inventory to G/L, INV920D. INV920 used macros limited by the Override Exchange Rate parameter set on the book in Book Definition, CEA105D3. If the Override Exchange rate parameter is set to No, the macro uses the Rate Type of the Book. If the Override Exchange parameter is set to Yes, the macro uses the Rate Type of the Order Company. This enhancement provides macros that use the Rate Type of the Order Company. This enhancement provides macros that use the Rate Type of the Warehouse Company, Order Company, or the Book regardless of the Override Exchange Rate parameter in the Book.

Infor LN & Baan Tips & Tricks for TECHNOLOGY: Adding a Timestamp to LN Standard Tables

Kathy Barthelt 0 33691 Article rating: 5.0

Table Timestamp Definitions (ttadv4136m000)

Use this session to define timestamps for Infor LN tables. A timestamp is an additional column that stores the date and time of the last change for each record.

Timestamps are utilized by features like the extraction logic of CPM Enterprise Analytics. They enable CPM to perform incremental data extractions. For example, CPM can use the timestamps to extract records that were changed during the last week in a weekly extraction process.

Infor LN & Baan Tips & Tricks for OPERATIONS: Absorbing Cost Items into Projects

Kathy Barthelt 0 22754 Article rating: 5.0

Operations: To absorb the cost of cost items into specific projects, you'll need to handle them as customized items. However, cost items cannot directly be defined as customized items. Customized items must be physical, either manufactured or purchased.

That said, it's still possible to absorb cost items into a project, although indirectly. Here's how:

  1. Set Up Ledger Account: First, create a new ledger account in session tfgld0508m000 and set the type to "PCS" (project) in the operations management integrations. This account will be used for matching and approving purchase orders for cost items.

  2. Create and Activate Projects: Ensure that the necessary projects are created and set to active status.

  3. Purchasing Cost Items...

Kathy Barthelt 0 26785 Article rating: 5.0

When attempting to post to a ledger account, users may occasionally encounter an error indicating that the ledger account is blocked. To resolve this issue, navigate to the Chart of Accounts session (tfgld0508m000) and select the Miscellaneous tab. Once there, review the Blocking field. The available settings are:

  1. Free
  2. Blocked for manual input (integration transactions and other automatic transactions can be posted with this setting)
  3. Blocked for all purposes.

Infor LN & Baan Tip: Defining “Unavailability” in Infor LN

This topic describes the definition of temporary unavailability for resources in a calendar.

Use one of the following sessions:

  • Recurring unavailability
For recurring unavailability, such as national holidays, define the recurrence in the Recurrences (tcccp0143m000) session. Add that recurrence to the applicable calendar and availability type in the Calendar Recurrences (tcccp0144m000) session, and clear the Available check box for the unavailable days.
With calendar recurrences you define recurring exceptions in a calendar, and set a time schedule for daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly unavailable time in one action.
  • Unavailable days for all availability types
To define occasional unavailability, such as a department trip, use the Calendar Non-Available Days (tcccp0119m000) session. What you define here applies to all availability types.

  • Unavailable days for a specific availability type
To define unavailability for a single day, complete the following steps:
  1. Start the Calendar Working Hours (tcccp0120m000) session.
  2. Find the applicable calendar and availability type, and clear the Available check box for a working hours type on the relevant date.
  • Unavailable during a part of a day
To indicate that part of a day is unavailable, use the Calendar Recurrences (tcccp0144m000) or the Calendar Working Hours (tcccp0120m000) session to specify the time intervals that are available. All other times are considered unavailable. You cannot directly specify an unavailable time interval.

If you defined unavailable dates in the Calendar Non-Available Days (tcccp0119m000) or the Calendar Recurrences (tcccp0144m000) session, in the Calendar Working Hours (tcccp0120m000) session, click Update Calendar.

Note:

  • Unavailability always applies to entire days. If the Calendar Working Hours (tcccp0120m000) session contains multiple time intervals for a single date, and the Available check box is cleared for some intervals and selected for other intervals on the same day, the entire day is unavailable.
  • A calendar recurrence that makes a day unavailable has no effect on the availability of that day in the parent calendar.

It is not useful to define a special availability type for unavailability, because Infor LN does not maintain and update the working hours and the capacity data of a calendar in the Calendar Working Hours (tcccp0120m000) session based on non-available availability types.
