Infor LX & BPCS Tip of the Week: LX 8.4 Enhancement – Company Security for ACR510

This enhancement provides LX Company Security to Invoice Maintenance, ACR510. Only users authorized to the invoice company can view or maintain invoices.

User must be authorized to ACR as a product or ACR510 as an individual program in Security Master Maintenance, SYS600. Additionally, ACR510-01, displays all records, but if the user tries to revise or display a transaction record for a company the user is not authorized to, this error message is displayed: “User is not authorized to the transaction company.”

Infor LX & BPCS Tip of the Week: Item Deletion Option in IDF Enterprise Items

Previously, users were unable to delete items in IDF Enterprise Items when they have inventory balances or the item is connected to ancillary records, such as sales history records. This feature added in LX 8.4 provides the ability to delete an item when sales history records are found but all sales history activity is zero.

When the user attempts to delete an item in IDF Enterprise Items that is tied to a sales history record, the panel displays a message that the item cannot be deleted. The user can then run the Delete Validation Report to determine which records are tied to this item that prevents the validation. If the item no longer has manufacturing activity but had old sales history, the item can be deleted.

Infor LN & Baan Tip of the Week: In Transit Inventory Report – LN 10.7

A new In-Transit Inventory report can be printed in the Print In-Transit Inventory (whinr1410m300) session. The report provides an overview of company inventory that is on the move and not stored in a warehouse. This concerns only inventory that is transferred from one warehouse to another. Items that are shipped to, for example, customers or projects, or items that are issued to production lines or service departments are excluded.

Infor LN & Baan Tip: Important Porting Set Announcement (all versions of LN & Baan)

There has been a recent porting set change due to Infor’s Product Life Cycle Policy.  

How to determine the maintenance stage of an Infor LN product version and release

Before a customer starts deploying Porting Set 9.4a or a later release, they must determine the actual maintenance stage of their Baan / Infor LN product. The definition of the maintenance stages for the product versions and releases of all versions of Baan and Infor LN are outlined in the Product Support schedule as published in the PLC policy. The maintenance stage of the ERP version is either “Mainstream Maintenance”, “Extended Maintenance” or “Sustaining Maintenance”.

How to manage Porting Set updates

The following conditions apply to customers who intend to upgrade to Porting Set 9.4a or later Porting Set releases:

  • For customers with a product version in Mainstream Maintenance, there will be no difference with regards to Porting Set updates. They can install Porting Set 9.4a or any newer release.
  • Customers with a product version in Extended Maintenance will be able to use Porting Set 9.4a only under the condition that they acquire an Extended Maintenance license and have applied the corresponding validated license key to their SLM License server. This key is a Server license type.
  • Customers with a product version in Extended Maintenance who have not acquired an Extended Maintenance license will not be able to use Porting Set 9.4a or any newer version. The latest Porting Set for these customers that can be installed and used is 9.3j which was released in April 2021.
  • Customers with a product version in Sustaining Maintenance will not be able to use Porting Set 9.4a or any newer version. The latest Porting Set for these customers is 9.3j which was released in April 2021. Customers who are not entitled to upgrade to Porting Set 9.4a can use any Porting Set release prior to Porting Set 9.4a. These continue to be available through the Infor Support Portal.
