Infor LN & Baan Tips & Tricks for OPERATIONS: WebTop Grid Support Enhancement for MRP320D

George Moroses 0 242 Article rating: 5.0

This enhancement modifies the subfile used in MRP320D Master Schedule Detail Inquiry (SCR001) to expand the subfile with data instead of clearing it as the user pages. This update enables full compatibility with the WebTop 4.8 Grid decorator.

To implement this enhancement, request and apply MR 81428.

Functionally, this change only affects how the subfile is populated to support a deployed WebTop Grid. There is no visible change or user impact in how the program operates.

In summary, the enhancement improves functionality and ensures full WebTop Grid support for the

Infor LN & Baan Tips & Tricks for OPERATIONS: Pegging Material Supply Lines for Operation and Product Subcontracting

Kathy Barthelt 0 1158 Article rating: 5.0

For project pegged production orders, operations can be subcontracted. The material delivered to the subcontractor can be project pegged or anonymous. The subassemblies sent and retrieved are always project pegged. Costing breaks can be applied to direct the costs of the subcontracted operation to a specific project cost account. If (production material) costing breaks are used, a purchase order line's peg can differ from the peg on the material supply line.

For product subcontracting, the subcontracted purchase orders can include materials that inherit the project pegs or can include anonymous materials. The pegged materials are stored in inventory and are shipped to the subcontractor with project pegged orders.

In case of a project pegged order, a peg distribution is linked to the Purchase Order Material Supply Line in the...

Baan/LN Tip of the Week: Financial Year End – Have you done all you need to do?

I'm reposting this checklist for things to consider in order to finish out the current year, and plan for next year…

  • Are your accounting records up to date so you can make a projection of how the current year will turn out?
  • Are all account reconciliations up to date to facilitate the closing of the books after year end?
  • Are there accounts receivable that should be reserved for or written off prior to the end of the year?
  • If your business carries inventory, do you need to plan a physical count as of the end of the year?
  • Has depreciation on your fixed assets been recorded during the year? Have you considered depreciation on current year additions?
  • Have all new asset purchases and bank loans been recorded on your books?
  • Are there any liabilities, for example, pending legal actions or warranty issues, which will need to be recorded prior to year end?
  • Do you have a plan in place to properly “cut-off” revenue at year-end to properly match revenue and expense?
  • Will there be bonuses, profit sharing contributions or discretionary retirement plan contributions paid prior to the end of the year? How will these payments affect cash flow?
  • Will you be in compliance with your bank covenants at year end?
  • Do you need to make arrangements to receive statements as of the end of the year for cash value of life insurance, loan balances, etc.?
