Hunter Douglas Architectural Products Selects Crossroads RMC for LN 10.6 Upgrade Project

Hunter Douglas, the world leader in window coverings and a major manufacturer of architectural products, has selected Crossroads RMC for their LN 10.2.1 to 10.6 upgrade project. Hunter Douglas has been an LN user for years, but due to a requirement from their parent organization to modernize their hardware/infrastructure, it was decided to update their ERP version as well. Phase 1 of the project will consist of a base technology upgrade with a Phase 2 planned for 2020. Phase 1 Go-Live is slated for January 1, 2020.

Infor LN & Baan Tip of the Week: The Production Bill of Material – 10.7

The production bill of material is globally specified at the company level. It can be used as a source for the definition of the local material lists, such as:

  • The production model in the repetitive module.
  • The production model in the job shop module.
  • The subcontracting model in the subcontracting module.

The production bill of material can be generated through the engineering bill of material. The new production bill of material differs from the old bill of material:

  • It has a header and a status.
  • It is always revision controlled.
  • The effective dates have been moved from the material lines to the header.
  • The BOM quantity has been moved from item production data to the header.
  • The use up has been moved from alternatives to the material line.
  • The material line excludes logistic data (no warehouse nor routing operation).

The production bill of material is not mandatory.

Production bill of material revisions:
The production bill of material is revision controlled. The objective of the revision is to control the changes to the bill of material over time.

The P-bom includes this revision-related data:

  • Revision number
  • Effective date and Expiry date
  • Status (New, Approved, Expired)
  • Creation date and Created by: user
  • Approval date and Approved by: user
  • Expiry date and Expired by: user
  • Source information

Infor LX & BPCS Tip of the Week: Control Number, POCNO, added to CEA502B1

This enhancement makes the control number field in the purchase order file available for macros. Previously, the POCNO field (control number) in the purchase order was not available for macros. This enhancement allows the user to create macros that use this field. This enhancement provides the user with the ability to keep track of control numbers in their journal entries.

Improves control over PO costing changes during invoice entry by replacing passive warnings with an intentional override action.

  • In ACP500D3 (Invoice Entry PO Costing), users previously could unintentionally accept changes by pressing ENTER, even when quantity to cost or amount to cost values had changed.

  • A new “F14 to Override” warning message replaces the old message:
    “Details have changed. Press enter again to accept data.”
    This ensures users acknowledge and confirm significant changes explicitly.

New System Parameter:

  • “Apply GRN Costing Tolerance for PO Costing” (optional):

    • Within tolerance: Displays the original message —
      “Details have changed. Press enter again to accept data.”

    • Outside tolerance: Triggers the new override requirement —
      “F14 to Override”

Benefits:

  • Enhances oversight and reduces unintentional cost acceptance.

  • Enables better control of PO costs when invoice details differ from expectations.

BPCS/LX Tip of the Day: LX Inventory Pallet Status Flow

Four fields in the Item/Warehouse record (IIW file) affect the disposition of the

pallet status.

 

1.  Goods Receiving Code: You define these codes in Goods Receiving Maintenance (WHM130). The codes control whether or not the stock passes through inspection, what percentage, or quantity of a delivery to inspect, and the number of quarantine days, if any.

 

2.  Inspection Zone/Inspection Location: Either the Inspection Zone or the Inspection Location must be entered on the Item/Warehouse Master Maintenance screen WHM150D2-01.

 

3.  Default Inventory Status: If the status is 0 (Received) or 1 (Inspection), the item moves from the receiving location to the inspection location in inspection status. If the pallet status is not 0 or 1 (that is, 4 (Available) or 9 (Rejected)), the pallet moves to the inspection location with the default status, but the pallet will not proceed from the Inspection location to the Putaway location. You must manually move the stock.

 

4.  Pallet Status Codes: 0 (Received), 1 (Inspection), 4 (Available), and 9 (Rejected) are the only pallet status codes reserved by the system to update and advance inventory/pallet status. To do this Warehouse Management uses the following rules:

 

·    Rejected inventory goes from receiving to a Reject (type 9) Location with a Location Type A (Rejected) in the Location Extension file (ILE) record. All inventory received into a reject location is set to a pallet/inventory status of Reject (9).

·    Inventory received by Goods Receiving (WHM510) into a Receiving Location takes on the Default Inventory Status that is in the Item Warehouse file (IIW) record.

·    If the Default Inventory Status is 0 (Received), the system places the pallet status at 0 (Received) in the Receiving Location, I (Inspection) in the Inspection Location, and 4 (Available) if moved from Inspection to any palletized location other than rejection. If moved to rejection the Default Inventory Status changes to 9 (Rejected).
