The Infor Development Framework (IDF) re-architects the way a user interacts with the application by providing an efficient, task-oriented process to view the application information that is contained within Infor LX. IDF enables users to configure their view of the application data without modifying the core application and its supportability.

The examples below describe how users can configure their display of data and maximize overall productivity:

• Arrange application information into multiple groupings and sequences that make sense for the job.
• Hide information that does not apply to a particular job or task.
• Filter records to show only the information that applies to the job or task that the user is performing.
• Customize the information for an individual user, for a group of users, or for all users.

IDF (Infor Development Framework) configures your view of the application data without modifying the core application and its supportability. In version 8.3.4 and higher, IDF programs provide the replacement for most of the 300 series inquiry programs. Starting with version 8.4, Infor has added 100 series maintenance programs such as Item Master, Vendor Master, and Customer Master. With IDF, navigation drill-downs are far superior to any green-screen presentation of the data.

The Infor Development Framework (IDF) provides two options that you can use to review information about jobs that are in the job queue or underway at the workstations and change the status of unattached jobs or review detailed information for specific unattached jobs.

                Option 5 – Job Status Maintenance: Use this option to review information about jobs that are in the job queue or underway at the workstations. You can also delete records of jobs in the Job Activity (JOBACT) file.

                Option 6 – Unattached Job Status Maintenance: Use this option to change the status of an unattached job. You can also review detail information for a selected unattached job.

If you are making modifications to IDF programs or files, it is a good idea to create your modified objects in a test library that you create for this purpose.

The test library should be added to the top of the library list just after the temporary library QTEMP so your modified objects are found instead of the standard IDF objects. This test library allows you to make changes and test them, or to continue running in this mode permanently without actually replacing the original objects. This test library also helps you to isolate and control your modifications when applying patches from Infor.

 A tool to import LX Security Data into IDF is available as part of LX 8.4. The tool is called CPYSECIDF and is stored in the CPYSECID84 library which was included in the base install of LX 8.4. Updates will be delivered with BMRs.
